Rick Rubin to produce new Metallica album
Metallica announced Thursday that Rick Rubin will be producing their new record. Rubin has an illustrious track record (no pun intended) as he has manned the controls for some of the best albums from Slayer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, System of a Down, and The Mars Volta among others. Many fans have blamed Metallica’s decline on long-time producer Bob Rock, and his departure will undoubtedly please most of the veteran fan-base. Hopefully Rubin can stem Metallica’s decade-long descent into the suck.
