Massive Attack launches world tour

Massive Attack

To kick off their summer-long world tour, Massive Attack played The Paramount Theatre last night in Seattle. Following two more dates in the United States (Denver and Coachella, respectively), the entourage of trip-hop pioneers jump the pond and play the Mediterranean, Europe and Asia.

For those who have never seen the band live it might seem like a boring show to go see. While their albums are very studio-based, their live show is anything but. The group travels with a full band consisting of two drummers, bass guitar, electric guitar, and keyboards. Vocalists in attendance included Liz Frazer, 3D, Horace Andy, Daddy G and Shara Nelson who all took turns commanding the mic.

If you get a chance to see them in Denver or Coachella, it is highly recommended that you do so. Massive Attack tours the US very rarely and they really do put on an impressive show. Even if you’re not overly familiar with their catalog (as I was not), you will still have a good time. They’re that good.
