Sounds of the Underground tickets on sale

Underground metal festival Sounds of the Underground started selling tickets this weekend. The line up this summer is a little disappointing with Trivium, As I Lay Dying, and an over-the-hill In Flames leading the bill. Last year was a great tour with a nice mix of death and thrash metal from bands like Opeth and […]

Bonnaroo expands

Someone told me something recently, that the reason Bonnaroo is appealing to a more hipster crowd this year is because hippy bands don’t draw enough money. It makes perfect sense, really. Hippies are broke and don’t buy gobs of merchandise. Sadly, for Bonnaroo, most of the hipsters I know are broke too.
Well whatever the […]

Wolfmother to rock Fuji

Wolfmother has been added to the Fuji Rock Festival lineup. Although the festival isn’t nearly as amazing as last year, it is shaping up to be pretty decent. The Zeppelin-esque group is riding on the success of their much lauded Wolfmother, released last October.
They will join other artists such as: ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION, THE […]

The NME announced today that Radiohead will be embarking on a small tour to road-test new material. The tour will focus on “clubs” in across the UK, with a brief jaunt to Tennessee for Bonnaroo. NME writes:
In a statement, the band said: “We’re excited to be touring again, especially to play new songs to […]

Lollapalooza!

In its day, Lollapalooza was a mythical thing. As it toured the the states, it was electric. Introducing the country to the rising tide of great 90s music. But the event fell into disrepair and disappeared from significance for a few years.
Last year, organizers redefined the festival into a three day show in Chicago. […]
